End Of The Year Picnic: Our annual School Picnic is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10. We will need volunteers in the kitchen and adults for grilling. We also will need to borrow some grills - either gas or charcoal. Please contact Lanae Weyer to offer your assistance in the kitchen, to help with grilling or to bring your grill. Thank you!!

Also, volunteers are needed for the games. Contact Mr. Hamilton to offer your help.

Home and School Pizza Lunch: We will not have our "normal" hot lunch program on Friday, May 9. (Germantown does not have school on the 9th.) So instead we will have a Home and School Pizza Lunch. Forms are due back on Monday, May 5. If you need another form, please stop in the School Office.

$crip: Are you planning on getting your Mother something from the $crip program? Don't forget that the Copper Dock has joined the program. These certificates are a special order (get your order in by Monday 8:30 a.m. for delivery on Thursday). Plan ahead to assure you have your Mother's Day gift in time!!

We would also like to inform you that Linens 'n Things are no longer in the $crip program. If you still have some Linens 'n Things certificates, please use them as soon as possible.

From The Principal's Office:

Dear Parents:

Can you believe it's May 1st? As usual, we are very busy. Congratulations to our 2nd Graders for receiving their 1st Holy Communion. We were so proud of our students. I still have a picture of me in 2nd Grade when I made my 1st Holy Communion. It is a special day.

As you know, our new Registration Form introduces the school family obligation of SRO (Shared Responsibility Opportunities). We are including examples of how these hours can be attained. We think you will see how easy it is to get your hours in even if you are not present at an event. Several of our "key" volunteers are leaving us because their children are graduating. The SRO's will help us get more volunteers involved.

Also included in this Gazette is a description of our dress policy for Mass days and other days of the week. The big change is that we are requiring students to wear uniform pants, skirts or capris. This semester has been a learning experience and the School Committee has determined that the more definitive we are, the fewer "creative" interpretations . . . All in all, we have been very pleased with our Mass day dress policy. We thank you for helping us make a smooth transition. We will be ordering spirit wear at the end of May. If you would like to place an order, you can download the order form off the school's website or fill out the form included with the Gazette. All orders need to be turned in at the School Office by
May 28.

Finally we are including the St. Gabriel 2008-2009 school calendar.

We have many activities and field trips planned for May. Please mark your calendar for our All-School Picnic on June 10.
