The Athletic Committee would like to thank all the parents for volunteering their time as coaches, working concessions and admissions and for their help setting up and cleaning up our gym. We couldn't have done it without the help of our wonderful families. We will also be having a drawing during halftime of each game for one lucky player's family to win a $10 $crip Choice Certificate. So come and enjoy watching some great basketball and thank you again for all your help this basketball season.
School Closing Information: Please listen to the following stations for information: Channel 12, WTKM 104.9 and WTMJ 620 or 94.5.
St. Gabriel School Yearbooks: We are pleased to announce that it is time to order your child's 2011/2012 yearbook, "Among The Stars!" To order, simply complete the yearbook order form and enclose your payment of $16/book. Make checks payable to
St. Gabriel. Orders are due by Friday, January 27. Yearbooks are distributed at the end of the school year. For more information, please contact Julie Malucha, malucha6@yahoo.com
Playground Duty: The following days have openings for playground duty: Jan. 20, 24 and 26. Then, in February, every day needs at least one person. Please either stop or call the School Office to sign up. Thank you.
Spring Art and Talent Show: Although our date for our Spring Art and Talent Show seems like a way off, we are asking students to submit their "best" or favorite work from Art Class. Please hang on to those priceless works of Art. The deadline for submitting art work will be late April. More details to come.
The Catholicism Project: Parents check out this worthwhile program offered by our parish to help grow your faith. Four sessions will be offered: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. and Sundays after the 8:00 a.m. Mass. To register or with any questions, please contact Lynn Ann Reesman at lareesman@sgabrielp.org or call
St. Gabriel Church at 628-1141.
Do You Need SRO Hours For This Year? Come and join the Auction Committee next Wednesday, January 25th at 6:00 in the school library! We will be stuffing invitations to get ready to mail. Everyone is welcome to come and help make this year's auction a grand success! If you have any questions, please call Cathy and Jeff Piotrowski at 628-7931 or Mary Frank at 628-1565.
2012 St. Gabriel Annual Dinner Auction: If you are sick of the cold and snow, join in the fun on Saturday, March 10th at The Chandelier Ballroom in Hartford for our 10th anniversary dinner auction! Our theme this year is, "The Good Old American Summertime". Go back to the good old days when everyone met in the town park for a church picnic for food, fun, and fireworks! We are still in need of many great donations to make this year's event a HUGE success. Please consider getting together with other school families to donate needed items. Some items we are looking for are: vacation getaways, autographed sports memorabilia, hand-crafted items, sporting event tickets, golf packages, gift certificates to local restaurants and stores, and much more!
This week we are starting our "Auction Item of the Week". Every week in the Gazette, the Auction Committee will spotlight an exciting item that has been donated. This week's item is a solid knotty cherry step back cupboard. This cupboard, which measures 26"W X 18"D X 77"H has been hand-crafted by St. Gabriel parishioner Dave Daute! This amazing woodworking marvel can be found on this year's voice auction. Bid high, and this beautiful piece of furniture can be yours.
Of all the welcoming places where love and joy reside,
a home with caring family holds the warmest love inside.
